Preschool Lead Teacher

Radiance Learning Academy, a Preschool, is dedicated to providing project-based, hands-on learning for curious minds, resulting in outstanding academic achievement for all students. We are a small, upcoming academics-focused preschool with the best teachers-to-student ratio.

We seek a qualified teacher to prepare small children for preschool by easing them into organized education. Our teachers will teach them essential elements they will encounter soon after they enter school. A preschool teacher must have great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices, preschool educational methods, and the ability to engage them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the child's healthy mental and emotional development to acclimate to the next level of education. Ideal candidates have experience as a lead teacher, preschool teacher, pre-k teacher, childcare lead teacher, and headstart teacher.


Responsibilities

  • Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children. Prepare daily and weekly lesson plans to help students meet their learning goals.
  • Employ various techniques (storytelling, educational play, and media.) to teach children. Actively ensure every student's academic growth by utilizing multiple instructional methods.
  • Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.
  • Follow through on routine job responsibilities, including grading, record keeping, attendance, and lesson planning.
  • Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments.
  • Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, or colors, and do crafts)
  • Organize and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
  • Track children's progress and report to parents
  • Communicate with parents effectively and professionally on a weekly and as-needed basis.
  • Collaborate with other educators.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards. Keep the classroom neat and pleasant in appearance all the time.
  • Attend school events outside regular school hours, including, but not limited to: Parent/teacher conferences, curriculum night, art performances, student socials, open houses, & professional development sessions.
  • Keep classroom and hallway bulletin boards looking fresh and inviting
  • Positively support the school's policies and practices and work collaboratively in a professional organization
  • Able to use strong written and oral communication skills to transfer thoughts and express ideas
  • Flexible and adaptable in dealing with new, different, or changing requirements
  • Simple daily housecleaning duties in the assigned classroom
  • Hold self and others accountable to accomplish results
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all personal information regarding children, families, and staff
  • Effective in handling multiple concurrent tasks

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Preschool Teacher

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, science, or arts from a four-year College or University in the USA is required. An associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education combined with other degrees can also be considered.
  • A teaching Certificate or combination of equivalent education or experience is preferred.
  • Proof of work towards appropriate WA ECE certificates is required
  • Consistent teaching experience for two years with children of similar age groups is preferred
  • The endorsement in desired subject or grade level preferred

Preschool Assistant Teacher

Radiance Learning Academy is looking for an Assistant Teacher (focusing on outdoor and PE) who can help with preschool classes in fun indoor/outdoor activities. In this job position, as an assistant to our lead teachers, you will assist children in everyday preschool activities. An ideal candidate will facilitate the readiness for children to be kindergarten ready. You will organize games and challenges that promote physical activity among our Pre-K / kindergarten students. Your goal is to develop motor skills and physical development among younger children. You must have strong speaking and listening skills. Assistance teachers must be able to observe all their students and maintain discipline within the class. In addition to students, they interact with parents, other teachers, and school administrators.


Applicants must have a STAR ID with a required background check, have or be willing to get CPR/First Aid/HIV training, and have all the necessary training that the Department of Child, Youth, and Family requires.


This candidate should have an excellent driving record and can drive 15 students safely for field trips. This is MUST for this position.


The candidate does not need to have any experience. They need to have an open mind to learn and work hard. We expect the candidate to be very personable with excellent communication skills. They should love to teach young students.

The Position: 

We seek a dependable, upbeat, responsible, imaginative, and fun-loving individual with previous experience working with young children to join us as a childcare assistant. We seek a warm-hearted person who can build meaningful connections with the children. While we will provide preschool and classroom management training, a positive attitude is essential. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Qualifications outlined by the WA State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) for Child Care Centers. However, we are willing to provide training for the right candidate:

Experience working in a daycare or childcare setting is preferred, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you must interact confidently with parents and communicate their child's daily experiences and progress.

You must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation. Attention to detail, sensitivity to family situations, and being discreet are crucial for success in this role.

We seek a knowledgeable, experienced, and creative candidate with a sense of fun and an ability to connect with children through singing, dancing, and play. A strong customer service mindset is also necessary.

Finally, the job requires that you be able to lift at least 40 pounds to waist height throughout the workday.


SALARY/BENEFITS:

This is a full-time position, with 35-40 hours of work per week, throughout the year.

We offer a competitive salary range of $19-$23 per hour, commensurate with your education, training, and experience.

Academic Tutor (Part-Time / Online)

Radiance Learning offers online academic enrichment to kids from grades K-8. We seek qualified candidates to tutor our academic program students (Specifically the English Language Arts). The schedule will typically be 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM PST every weekday and possibly on weekends. Candidates will work with our students on academic areas (English Language and Test Prep)

  • Must be at least 18 years old and provide us with a recent background check.

Summer Interns

Drivers

We seek a qualified safe driver to transport our students to and from our centers and neighborhood schools. We believe each employee plays a vital role in the school's mission. We provide a positive work environment where all staff can thrive and grow professionally.


Working Hours: Flexible during regular hours. Minimum guaranteed hours during the school year, job share/part-time will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • This person is responsible for driving a designated regular school bus route daily.
  • Additional hours for outdoor, athletic, and special activities may be available.
  • Five hours a day is guaranteed during school days.

  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • CDL With P or S endorsement
  • At least one year of experience as a licensed driver of a passenger vehicle
